There is much to like in this book; an adventurous, if a bit naive young man, a believable futuristic scenario, science, pirates, conspiracy, danger and heroism. The ocean provides the backdrop for this entirely absorbing tale about Ty, who lives underwater and his struggle to save his “homestead”, one of the last original colonies. Ty is joined by Gemma, a girl with secrets and an agenda of her own. This book is written for young adults but there was nothing in it that detracted from my enjoyment of it, even if I am twice as old as the intended audience. I would suggest this book for readers who are fans of science fiction and fictional adventure. Compelling and engrossing, I had a hard time putting this book down until the very end.
