San Diego Comic Con - Day Three

It was a pretty kick ass day in San Diego. We got to the convention center via a pedi-cab just a few minutes before they opened and made a beeline for the Image booth. Our intent was to purchase 2 copies of Comic Book Tattoo which would guarantee us a place in the Tori Amos signing on Saturday. There were only 200 available and they were giving them on a first come, first serve basis, a certain number each day. We were unlucky on both Wednesday and Thursday but lucky on Friday! Hip hip hooray!
We were not-so lucky on getting tickets for the Spaced signing with Simon Pegg. For these tickets you had to stand in line, draw a ticket from a bag and if the ticket had an 'x' on it, you were good to go. No 'x' for us.
Later in the day our luck turned again and we were successful in getting tickets to the Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog signing. Only I got to go through the line and get signatures from Nathan Fillion, Neil Patrick Harris, Joss Whedon and others. It was a crazy line, surrounded by a crazy crowd of people. Once you got to the front row you were not allowed to take and pics but I was able to snap some good ones from the second row.
Neil Patrick Harris

Nathan Fillion, too nice for his own good.

Joss Whedon, sloppy dresser, pretty decent writer.

We left the convention center a few hours early to trek up the street for the sneak preview of Pineapple Express. The movie was good and afterwards there was a Q&A session with Judd Apatow, Seth Rogen, James Franco and some others. Superfro and I had gotten stuck in the front row, which sucked for watching the movie but was great for during the Q&A.

Judd Apatow, funny fucker.

Overall, we are having a swell time. We're not picking up nearly as much interesting swag but we've had a good time and eaten some great food!

Snack time!
